Recipe - Butterscotch Marshmallow Rice Krispie Treats

Butterscotch Marshmallow Rice Krispie Treats
½ cup of butter (do not use margarine)
¼ cup of peanut butter
4 cups of miniature marshmallows
6 cups of Rice Krispies (or similar rice cereal)
1 cup (6 oz. Pkg) of butterscotch morsels

Melt the butter in a three-quart saucepan. Add the marshmallows and cook the mixture over a low heat, stirring constantly, until the marshmallows are melted and the mixture has a syrupy texture.
Remove the pan from heat.
Stir in ¼ cup of peanut butter.
Add the Rice Krispies and stir until they are coated well.
Press the warm mixture evenly and firmly into a buttered 13" x 9" pan

In a small saucepan, melt together one cup of butterscotch morsels over a very low flame
(stirring until well blended).
Remove the pan from the heat and spread the butterscotch evenly over the Rice Krispies-marshmallow mixture in pan.
Cool the product until it becomes firm.
Cut the product into bars and serve.

Tip: Sprinkle M&M's, Reese's Pieces, or pieces of nuts over the top if you desire.
