What you will need:
2 large apples, peeled and cored (slice into wedges)
8 ounces of butter
1 tablespoon amaretto liqueur
Vanilla ice cream, optional
Lets get cooking:
In a sauce pan over medium heat, melt butter with sugar and cinimun
Add sparkling wine and amaretto
Stir until incorperated
On a flour dusted surface, lay out prepaired dough
Fill each pastry sheet with 1/8 of apple mixture, at the wide end of sheet
Roll each sheet until you meet the corner
Place dumplings into a prepaired baking dish
In a preheated oven at 350 degrees, bake loosly covered in foil for 15 minutes
Remove foil and continue to bake for an additional 15 minutes
Allow to cool slightly
Pull open front side of dumpling,
add a small scoop of vanilla ice cream
Serve immediately
Pairings:
Rum and Coffee
8 oz Kahlua
® coffee liqueur
8 oz spiced rum
64 oz hot coffee
Cinnamon
Mix together in a heat proof pitcher or container
Fill glass coffee cups, top with whipped cream and ground cinnamon
