Posted by Magic of Spice

Vodka Infusion
To create a notable intoxicant, try infusing vodka
with any number of fresh herbs, spices, fruits and even peppers
Choosing a good grade of vodka is essential; make sure that it is smooth and clean

Endless possibilities:
The most popular infusions are fruit
But use your imagination to create some extraordinary combinations

Possible fruit choices:
Cherry   Kiwi  Black Current  Berries
Possible herb choices:
Lavender  Rosemary  Chocolate Mint  Thai Basil
Possible spice choice:
Vanilla   Hot Peppers   Garlic   Cinnamon

Let’s start infusing:
Once you have chosen passion
Using a clean, air-tight jar: like quart sized Mason jar
Wash the ingredients, place them inside the jar and fill it with vodka
Notes: For fruits it is best to cut into slices
except berries can be left whole
Herbs should be left whole
Shake a few times and cover tightly with a lid
You will want to store your infusion in a cool, dark place
And will need to shake it 3-5 times a day, for the duration

Cranberry Vanilla Vodka
Infuse 3-5 days for strong flavors such as vanilla beans, citrus fruits, herbs and peppers
Infuse 7-8 days for moderate flavors such as melons, berries, peaches, mangoes and cherries
Infuse 14 days or so for milder flavors such as pineapple, kiwi and ginger
Once the vodkas flavor has reached its desired peak
Remove the infusion ingredients, strain through a fine strainer
And start cocktailing
